The improvements are proposed in support of developing a more thorough and efficient local and regional transportation system. This project will advance the efforts of the Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) completed in 2020.
The completed elements associated with this project include the determination of the location of a new interchange with I-70 at 29 Road and not 30 Road.
The project team is currently working on the development, documentation, and approval of the CDOT 1601 Interchange Process and FHWA Interchange Access Request (IAR). Additionally, the clearance of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is included in this effort. This project is needed to evaluate and design the various improvements and to complete the numerous approvals required to build the improvements.
