Third and Final Community Survey Results
Drawing from input from nearly 1,500 community members in two surveys during 2024, the third and final survey for Building Burlington gathered input on the draft direction for both the Comprehensive Plan and the Parks & Recreation Plan. The survey focused in part on prioritizing the action items coming out of both plans.

Building Burlington includes the City’s efforts to create a new Comprehensive Plan and a Parks and Recreation Plan for the community.

- Community vision for Burlington
- Future land uses and development
- Housing and Economic Development
- Planning for multimodal transportation (driving, walking, biking, etc.)
- Parks, trails, and open space
- Infrastructure (water, sewer, stormwater, etc.)
- Community facilities (police, fire, library, etc.)
- Planning for parks and open spaces in parts of town that may be missing these facilities
- Future amenities and features desired in different parks around Burlington
- Planning for future parks and open spaces in Burlington
- Planning for programming, activities, and events provided by the City of Burlington
- Funding for parks and open space maintenance
- Establish the overall vision for the Burlington community for the next 20-plus years
- Draw from broad community input in creating the new Comprehensive Plan and Parks and Recreation Plan
- Establish goals and actions to guide the community’s growth and evolution
- Provide the foundation for follow-up projects to be completed by the City of Burlington to help achieve the vision for the community
