The City of Dacono's Multimodal Transportation Master Plan is intended to provide renewed direction for Dacono’s growing transportation network. The transportation network is a system of planned and improved vehicular, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit facilities that will assure residents, workers, and visitors high-quality mobility and access for all their travel needs.

The plan will help staff and elected officials make many decisions about the future land use and transportation improvements for the city. The Transportation Master Plan will build upon the objectives in the City’s existing plans by:

  • Reassessing the City’s existing transportation network;
  • Revising the inventory to acknowledge recent improvements;
  • Determining present necessities;
  • Identifying unrealized opportunities.

This is a long-term plan, representing a 10 to 15-year vision for city-wide transportation.

This plan will establish a long-range vision for how people get around and through Dacono. The project team will develop goals and objectives and identify strategies for improvement.

This process will result in a prioritized set of projects to improve safety and mobility for walking, bicycling and driving in the city.

The City ’s facilities and other infrastructure are for everyone, and we are committed to ensuring the city is inclusive and accessible.

As part of the City of Dacono’s commitment to eliminating barriers by updating and maintaining compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we have partnered with STV Infrastructure to complete an ADA Self-evaluation to identify barriers and create a Transition Plan for compliance.

Once STV complete their data collection on-site, draft transition plan documents will be compiled and made available to the public for their input. This public input is necessary to help determine the priority areas for the City to address.

Starting in the second half of September through October, you may see people around town in yellow safety vests on our sidewalks and street corners or in our parks and trails. These are the crews from STV collecting data on our public rights-of-way and recreation facilities. This data will be used for the ADA Transition Plan, part of a Transition Master Plan by Felsburg Holt & Ullevig(FHU)and STV Inc.
