Why It Matters

A comprehensive plan does more than draw lines on a map. It expresses shared values, balances development and nature, and aligns our city’s goals across time and space. With your input, the plan can reflect real community priorities — from homes you can afford, to parks you’ll love, to streets that feel safe and walkable.

What We're Focusing On

This update to the existing 2017 Comprehensive Plan will look at key topics like:

  • Land Use & Zoning — Where should different types of housing, commerce, and open space go?
  • Housing Needs — How do we meet demand for a range of home types (from starter homes to “missing middle” housing)?
  • Transportation & Mobility — Roads, transit, biking, walking — how do we make it easy to get around?
  • Natural Areas & Open Space — How do we protect what makes Dacono special?
  • Infrastructure & Utilities — How do we keep pace with future growth?
  • Integration with Other Plans — Ensuring alignment with adjacent area plans like I-25 Subarea, City Center Vision, etc.

How You Can Get Involved

We’ll use several tools to hear from as many voices as possible. Here’s how you can jump in:

We’ll launch a statistically valid survey (online and print). Your responses will help us understand shared priorities across the community.

Join drop-in Open Houses, focus groups, or stakeholder meetings. It’s a chance to talk one-on-one with planners, ask questions, and share ideas.
