Our transportation network is a critical part of our everyday lives. Roads provide vital connections to the diverse communities across Larimer County, to schools, employment, and entertainment centers, to world-class recreation and nature areas and to the growing north front range region. Larimer County has regional significance, is a beautiful place to call home and a critical part of the local economy.

For these reasons, the County is making investments into the future of our vital transportation network. Our communities are growing and so is the need to improve safety, efficiency and provide mobility options to meet all lifestyles. Larimer on the Move is a planning effort that will develop a prioritized set of projects, programs, and plans that reflect a shared vision for mobility and a roadmap for how the County can efficiently invest funding to improve the system with a focus on unincorporated areas.

Values

We all have different experiences and needs in the way that we travel and how we feel safe doing so. The people of Larimer County are as diverse as our landscape is. The goals of this planning effort are to enhance the transportation network so that it is:

Improve existing facilities, implement safety features, and incorporate safety-specific design solutions for all road users including vulnerable users.

Enhance the safety, functionality, accessibility and longevity of the roadway network, intersections, bridges, bike facilities, pedestrian facilities, and the transit system.

Create a mobility network that integrates bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, transit, micromobility, better access, mobility hubs, technology, and more.

Ensure the roadway network is responsive to the needs of growth and economic development and efficiently moving people, goods, and services.

Consider all users – their unique needs and challenges. Develop projects and programs that address a wide range of safety and mobility improvement needs throughout the County.
